Behind every glass of water is a team of dedicated professionals—and technology that helps them keep watch!

Pictured here is Rockdale County Water Treatment Plant’s SCADA system, short for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. This technology gives our certified Water Treatment Operators a real-time view of many important processes involved in treating and delivering safe drinking water.

From water levels in reservoirs and storage tanks to water flow, pumps, filters, and chemical feed systems, SCADA helps operators monitor plant conditions from one central location. Operators can also control certain equipment and adjust settings as conditions change.

🚨 When something needs attention, SCADA sounds the alarm. These alerts help operators identify concerns, investigate the cause, and respond promptly.

👷🏽‍♀️👷🏽‍♂️ Our operators bring the knowledge and judgment that make this technology effective. They monitor the system, inspect equipment, test water quality, and make essential treatment decisions.

Our plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Technology and dedicated people work together around the clock to provide safe, reliable, high-quality drinking water to our Rockdale County community.
