Did you know? Rockdale Water Resources has two Clear wells, each capable of storing 4 million gallons of finished drinking water. Together, these essential facilities can store up to 8 million gallons of clean, treated water that is ready to be delivered to homes, businesses, schools, and emergency services throughout our community.
After water completes every stage of the treatment process—including clarification, filtration, and disinfection—it flows into the Clear wells for secure storage. During this time, the disinfectant continues to provide the required contact time, ensuring the water remains safe and meets all drinking water quality standards before entering the distribution system.
The Clear wells play a critical role in maintaining a dependable water supply by:
- 💧 Providing a reserve of treated drinking water during periods of high customer demand.
- 🚒 Supplying water needed for firefighting and other emergency response efforts.
- 🔧 Helping maintain uninterrupted service during maintenance projects or unexpected emergencies.
This vital infrastructure allows Rockdale Water Resources to provide a safe, reliable, and high-quality drinking water supply 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Every gallon stored is another step toward protecting public health and ensuring dependable service for the community we proudly serve.
