Report Water Outage

(770) 278-7500

Rockdale Water Resources (RWR) responded to a sanitary sewer spill at the creek crossing near Flat Shoals Road and Parker Road after a fallen tree damaged the existing sewer infrastructure. The impact caused a blockage at the creek crossing, leading to an overflow in the area.

Upon assessment, crews mobilized immediately and undertook an extensive repair to restore proper flow and protect the waterway. Approximately 200 feet of 10-inch sewer line—running from Manhole 098-030 to Manhole 098-029—was replaced. The original clay line was fully removed and upgraded to new high-strength plastic piping, improving long-term reliability and reducing future infiltration and inflow risks.

At the creek crossing, a 12-inch ductile iron encasement was installed to provide additional structural protection where the pipe passes beneath the stream. This enhancement ensures greater resilience against environmental impacts, erosion, and debris such as fallen trees.

RWR crews completed the repair safely and efficiently, restoring normal system operation and protecting the surrounding environment. Continuous monitoring will follow to ensure system stability and compliance with state environmental requirements.
