Pictured is Rockdale Water Resources’ Pipe Gallery, an important connection between the filtration process and finished-water storage.
After passing through the filters, treated water travels through the piping shown here and is directed into our two clear wells. Each clear well holds approximately 4 million gallons of treated water, providing a combined storage capacity of 8 million gallons.
The valves and piping throughout the gallery allow our operators to control and manage the movement of water through the facility. This system gives them the flexibility to adjust plant operations, isolate equipment for maintenance, and maintain a reliable flow of water throughout the treatment process.
Once stored in the clear wells, the finished water is ready for the next step—being pumped into the distribution system and delivered throughout our community.
The Pipe Gallery may operate behind the scenes, but it plays an essential role in keeping millions of gallons of safe, high-quality drinking water moving every day.
