Rockdale Water Resources Encourages Everyone to Help Conserve Water
Georgia remains under a Level 1 Drought Response, and Rockdale Water Resources is asking residents and businesses to join us in protecting one of our most valuable resources — water.
A Level 1 Drought Response focuses on water conservation and public awareness. Small changes in the way we use water every day can make a big difference when our community works together.
⏰ Know Your Outdoor Watering Hours
Under Georgia’s statewide outdoor watering schedule, established landscapes may be watered:
🌅 Before 10:00 a.m.
🌇 After 4:00 p.m.
Avoiding watering during the hottest part of the day helps reduce water loss from evaporation.
💦 Simple Ways to Save Water
- Check faucets, toilets and irrigation systems for leaks.
- Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth.
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads.
- Avoid overwatering lawns and landscapes.
- Use a shutoff nozzle when watering by hand.
- Consider drip irrigation or soaker hoses.
- Don’t let water run unnecessarily while cleaning outdoors.
- Report noticeable water leaks when appropriate.
🌱 Did You Know?
Certain outdoor water uses are allowed daily at any time during a Level 1 Drought Response, including drip irrigation, soaker hoses, irrigation of personal food gardens, hand watering with an automatic-shutoff hose, and watering newly installed landscaping during the first 30 days after installation.
