Pictured are two of Rockdale Water Resources’ five High Service Pumps. These powerful pumps play a critical role in the final step of delivering safe, high-quality drinking water to our community.
After water has completed the treatment process and is stored in our Clearwell’s, the High Service Pumps move the finished water into the distribution system. From there, it travels through miles of water mains to homes, businesses, schools, and other customers throughout the community.
On an average day, our facility sends approximately 12 million gallons of drinking water into the distribution system. That’s about 500,000 gallons every hour—or more than 8,000 gallons every minute.
Having five High Service Pumps provides the capacity and reliability needed to meet changing water demands while allowing equipment to be taken out of service for maintenance when necessary.
From treatment to storage to distribution, our operators continuously monitor the process to help ensure our community has a dependable supply of safe, high-quality drinking water 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
