EPD Declares Statewide Drought Level 1
ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. – The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has declared a Statewide Drought Response Level 1 due to ongoing dry conditions and impacts on water resources.
At this time, no mandatory water use restrictions are in place for Rockdale County, but all customers are strongly encouraged to voluntarily conserve water to help protect our shared water supply.
What You Need to Know:
- Outdoor watering is still allowed before 10:00 AM and after 4:00 PM
- No additional local watering restrictions are currently in effect
- Small conservation efforts now can help prevent stricter measures later
How You Can Help:
- Water lawns only when needed (about 1 inch per week)
- Fix leaking faucets, toilets, and irrigation systems
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads
- Turn off the hose when washing cars or use a shutoff nozzle
- Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks
Your cooperation helps ensure a reliable water supply for our community, especially during dry conditions.
