Pictured is one of Rockdale Water Resources’ two Super Pulsator Clarifiers, a vital component in our drinking water treatment process. These advanced clarifiers play an important role in producing the safe, clean, and high-quality drinking water our community depends on every day.
As raw water enters the Super Pulsator, carefully measured treatment chemicals are added to help tiny, suspended particles bind together into larger particles called floc. The clarifier’s unique pulsating action provides gentle mixing, allowing the floc to grow larger and settle naturally to the bottom of the basin. The clarified water then flows over the top and continues to the filtration process.
By removing turbidity (cloudiness), algae, and other naturally occurring materials before filtration, the Super Pulsator improves water quality while increasing the efficiency of the treatment process. The settled solids are routinely removed, and our licensed operators continuously monitor and adjust the system to ensure optimal performance around the clock.
